Potty Training Boot Camp Day 1

ok, so, I'm getting so many requests for updates on the Potty Training Boot Camp. It really is funny stuff, so I'm starting the blog I've been meaning to blog for the past year. Plus, I've been stuck at home cleaning up poop and pee for the past 4 days, so I need something to do.

Day 1, Tuesday, 10/7
We planned for this for a month or so. A week off of school, mommy in the classroom on the first day back, we're staying home til Friday. We're too close for missiles, we're switching to guns. Ok, we're switching from diapers to underware, except at bed time. Can we do it? YES, WE CAN!

After school: we switched from diapers to training pants and too small sweatpants. I'm armed with about 20 pairs of boxer briefs, tighty whites, and training pants from a friend. We make it through the morning with mommy saying, "do you have to go potty" a zillion times and KP actually going a little pee on the potty. He actually sat on the potty and asked for his Big Boy Potty book (it's a great one!). He keeps repeating over and over again, our mantra, "tell mommy and daddy when I have to go pee pee." He's really excited about the Cars movie stickers he gets for trying. We also have some cool ones from the Diego potty that have foot prints for "sitting," and larger stickers for actually making something happen.

My first Facebook Status Update at 1:59 pm
Kristin should have known that the excitement about the tractor across the street would have meant Keith would pee his pants.
We went outside to ride bikes after sister went down for a nap and watched the tractor across the street at a neighbor's house. We came in with the first pair of wet underwear and the funny, "peed my pants walk" that we all know and love.

Ahhhhh......... naptime, no diapers, no pee and poop, just sleep for all!

The rest of the first day was full of peed pants, but no poops. We are committed to staying home all week after mommy's dentist appointment at 5. Thankfully, our friend Michelle just potty trained her 3 year old and was willing to watch KP for an hour while I ran off to the dentist with baby sister. Right as we were pulling up, he peed his pants. Oh well, I had been prepared with 2 pairs of extra pants and underware, so it's not like we weren't expecting to bring home a bag of peed on clothes. (shout out to Michelle for cleaning KP's first outside the house accident!).

We made it through the evening at home with a little tinkle on the potty and a little tinkle on the floor. No biggie, we were all still in a good mood about it, so all in all, we're feeling ok (but exhausted!)

Oh, wait, that's not entirely accurate...... KP was A MESS at dinner. Came in from riding bikes outside with Daddy with pee pee pants, asked for chicken, I served him fish sticks (which he thinks is chicken). Finally at 7:30, after fighting with him over his dinner for a half hour, I just put him to bed. It was a long day of potty training and he had an extra half hour of school and an hour less of nap, so we called it a night.
